Interested in visiting The Haven?
We'd love to have you join us.
If you’re visiting church for the first time, we want you to know you’re welcome exactly as you are. Our worship service begins at 11:00 AM and lasts about 75 minutes. We gather in a spirit of welcome and grace, creating space for rest, reflection, and renewal. Worship opens with contemporary music, prayer, and a special moment with children before they head to Children’s Church for stories and activities designed just for them. Parents pick them up at a secure check-out station after the service.

The second half of worship takes on a more traditional rhythm with hymns led by our choir and organist, Scripture reading, and a message rooted in the love and life of Jesus. On the third Sunday of each month, we celebrate Communion at an open table where everyone is welcome, no exceptions. It’s a sacred moment of grace, healing, and belonging.

FAQs

We know visiting church for the first time can be intimidating—here are some details to help make your first visit easier.
Where are you located?

The Haven is located at 1610 Taylor Rd, Columbus, IN 47203.

Where should I park?

You can park anywhere in the main lot off Taylor Road and use the clearly marked main entrance. Visitor and handicap parking are in the first row. A drop-off circle is available for accessibility and families.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. The typical attire is casual—some dress up, others wear jeans and t‑shirts. Pastor Paul often wears jeans and sandals, so if you’re visiting church for the first time, you’ll fit right in no matter what you wear.

Do you offer Communion? Can I participate?

Yes, we celebrate Communion on the third Sunday of each month, and everyone is welcome at the table. We practice an open table, which means you don’t need to be a member of The Haven or have everything figured out to receive the bread and the cup. If you’re hungry for grace—or visiting church for the first time and curious about Communion—you’re welcome here.

We offer gluten-free options and grape juice to ensure the table is safe and accessible to all.

Are LGBTQ+ folks welcome?

Yes, fully and without exception. We are an inclusive community, and we affirm the sacred worth of every person.

What is your worship music like?

Our worship blends the old and the new—hymns, modern worship songs, and reflective music. Whether it’s piano, organ, guitar, or silence, our goal is to create space for honest connection with God, especially for those visiting church for the first time and seeking a place to belong.

Will I be singled out as a visitor?

Nope, we won’t make you stand up or raise your hand. But we would love to get to know you at your pace! If you’re visiting church for the first time, there’s a Welcome Table where you can stop by and ask any questions you might have.

Do you provide any accessibility accommodations?

Yes! If you have any accessibility needs, just let one of our greeters or staff know—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • Hearing assistance devices are available at the sound booth.
  • Our livestream service is available on YouTube every Sunday for those unable to attend in person.
  • The sanctuary is fully accessible, and there is a drop-off area at the main entrance. Handicap and visitor parking is available in the front row of the parking lot.
Are there times during the service when the congregation might be expected to participate?

Throughout the service, you can expect a few gentle moments of participation:

  • We stand (if able) during singing
  • We invite responses during the Call to Worship and during prayer time
  • During Children’s Time, children are invited to the front for a short, interactive message before going to Children’s Church
  • On Communion Sundays, we come forward to receive the elements
