Welcome to Little Lambs Childcare!

Little Lambs began in 1996 as a ministry of The Haven UMC, born out of a prayerful vision to serve the growing needs of families in Columbus. What started with a few infants and volunteers has blossomed into a trusted childcare center that nurtures more than 50 children each week.

Our mission is simple: to provide quality care in a nurturing Christian environment. At Little Lambs, children are known, loved, and celebrated. Our staff of dedicated teachers works with families to support the mental, emotional, social, and spiritual growth of every child. With strong safety standards, compassionate caregivers, and a welcoming community, we strive to be more than just childcare—we are a partner in your child’s earliest years.

Little Lambs Childcare Ministry is located in The Haven UMC at 1610 Taylor Rd, Columbus, IN 47203

 We are open Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM-6:00 PM.

Admission

We’d love to welcome your family to Little Lambs! Most parents begin by scheduling a tour to meet our staff, see our classrooms, and get a feel for daily life here. If it feels like a good fit, a $100 deposit secures your place on our waiting list.

We accept children from 6 weeks through age 5.

All staff complete CPR, First Aid, child safety training, and annual continuing education.

Little Lambs FAQs

We know choosing childcare is a big decision. Here are answers to a few common questions:

Yes. Every staff member passes national background checks, a Child Protective Services (CPS) screening, and random drug tests.

The safety of every child is our highest priority. All staff members are certified in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens, and receive training in safe sleep practices and child abuse prevention. Additionally, our staff complete at least 12 hours of continuing education annually to stay up to date on best practices in early childhood care.

Each age group follows a developmentally appropriate rhythm, blending structure, play, and creative learning. In our classrooms, we provide fun and exciting learning experiences, such as Bible stories & songs, language arts, sign language, music & movement, arts & crafts, math skills, early S.T.E.M. activities, story time, snacks, and circle time as your child moves through each milestone.

As of 2025, we currently employ 16-18 full-time and part-time staff members to care for approximately 50-55 children.
